Battery Charging
The lifespan of a battery is generally 12 months depending on how they are charged
There is 2 months factory warranty on electrical motors and controllers
There is 3 month factory warranty on batteries
The batteries must never run down to zero capacity or they will become faulty and not take full charge again similar to a cellular battery
Charge the batteries when they are on low, leave the charger on until the green light on the charger illuminates
Charge Time: Battery Amp Hour divide (/) Charge Amp output = Charge time in hours
NEVER charge a battery overnight unattended as overcharging will damage the batteries and reduce battery life – it can also cause the batteries to swell
Never charge a battery when it’s raining, or if there is an electrical storm or outside in direct sunlight
Never charge a battery when there is load-shedding as this causes a voltage spike and will damage the charger, blow a fuse or charging system controller – the same applies for electrical storms
Maintenance:
Same as the petrol driven bikes the electric model bikes nuts and bolts can vibrate loose over time therefore it is important to double check them from time to time and re-tighten them or use Loctite if need be
To clean electric driven bikes or quads wipe down with a damp cloth only and stay clear from electrical components
DO NOT spray the electrical model with any detergent, water etc…
As if any of the electronic components get wet or if liquid penetrates the electric parts like the controller box, motor, switches etc it will get corroded or damaged
